Windows Phone 7.5 Mango now available to all eligible devices

Good news everyone! Microsoft let the world know yesterday that the latest version of Windows Phone, Mango, is now available to all devices that are eligible, no matter what carrier you’re on.

The official rollout started around a month ago, but you’ll be served up a nice Mango snack regardless of phone or carrier. Users rocking the LG Optimus 7 on Spain’s Telefonica network are starting to see the update, as are those with the Samsung Omnia 7 on Deutsche Telekom.

There are only three exceptions right now, and none that UK Windows Phone users have to worry about: the Samsung Omnia 7 on Telefonica, and AT&T’s Dell Venue Pro and Samsung Focus. Those are still in the planning and testing phases right now.

You can also look forward to some firmware updates depending on your handset, designed to iron out some general bugs and improve performance. No word on the exact handsets, just don’t be too surprised if you see a notification asking you to update in the coming days.

So what can you look forward to with the Mango update? Over 500 updates and fixes, although the highlights include HTML5 support and hardware acceleration in the browser, visual voicemail, internet tethering, Twitter intergration, and best of all, multitasking.

Expect Mango to hit your handset very soon if it hasn’t already.
