It’s not all about the PlayStation Phone, you know. Sony Ericsson today announced two more additions to their premium Xperia range, the Pro and Neo.
Description-wise, they’re the same, but different. The main difference being a slide-out keyboard on the Xperia Pro, much like the PlayStation controls do on the Xperia Play.
The “Pro” is often the moniker given to Sony Ericsson’s business models, and a keyboard being pretty handy for business…stuff, we can see what they’ve done here.
The Neo is appealing to the photographer in you, boasting an eight-megapixel camera, complemented by Sony’s Exmor R photo enhancement technology and f/2.4 lens- but then that all sounds rather familiar. You’ll also be able to stream your photos and videos through a HDMI port.
Both phones have 3.7-inch touch-screen with 854×480, storage upgradeable by microSD, and headphone jacks, naturally. Both will be whizzing on a 1Ghz processor, with Sony’s Bravia technology to boost the beauty of the screen. They’ll both have the latest version of Android, Gingerbread (2.3) which will also help speed up app loading, web browsing and everything else
We’ve just got news that both T-Mobile and Three will be stocking the Xperia Neo, but no news yet on the Pro. In fact, it’s been conspicuously absent from all the documents we’ve had from UK phone networks. We’ll get back to you when we hear more, though we’d expect you may have to pay a little more for the luxury of a keyboard.
