The latest Mini Cooper is causing quite a stir by running on the UK’s favourite hot beverage.
Mini has announced a brand new model that waves goodbye to conventional fuel. The Cooper T runs on what Mini calls a ‘tea-leaf biofuel composite’ ─ a cup of Charlie Lee to you and me.
The Cooper T will be available in a number of fetching paintjobs when it goes on sale, including Red Bush, Earl Grey and Chamomile. One single cup of your preferred tea will let you travel 40 miles, according to Mini, which means it should be more cost effective than an equivalent diesel.
“This particular project has been brewing for years,” Cooper T bigwig Dr Ivana Kuppa commented. “Our extensive research has shown that the nation’s favourite drink is also an ideal biofuel. We already know good things come in small packages, but with Cooper T customers benefitting from up to 40 miles per cup, we are delighted to have the opportunity to bring this car to market.”
Among the usual safety features is Dunk Avoidance Technology (DAT for short). This handy feature uses a clever filtration system to stop passers-by from getting at your fuel with a biscuit, Cadbury Finger or chocolate bar.
Mini will be showing off the Cooper T at Mini Cotswold Gloucester on April 1st. A price is yet to be confirmed ─ we’ll keep you posted.
