Back in August we reported on rumours of a Jaguar 4×4. Now, Jaguar has confirmed it will be unveiling a new concept at the 2013 Frankfurt motor show, which may turn out to be exactly that. Maybe.

Jaguar is keeping its cards close to its chest until the show, but has released a teaser image to whet our appetites. Judging by the height of the vehicle and the squared off back, our money is on a 4×4 or possibly a crossover similar to the Range Rover Evoque. That said, it could equally turn out to be some sort of ‘baby Jag’.
One thing we can be fore of is the fact the Jaguar C-X17 concept will ride on Jaguar’s new modular aluminium architecture. This platform, we’re told, is particularly flexible in its ability to accommodate a wide range of vehicle styles, so don’t be too surprised to see all manner of unusual vehicle types bearing a Jaguar badge. In the not too distant future.
Jaguar will also be rolling out its XJR, XFR-S, XF Sportbrake and F-Type – just in case you’ve not seen it yet – at this year’s 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.
Jaguar will be doing a pre-show reveal on September 9th ahead of an alleged 2016 production date. You can watch the live reveal on Jaguar’s Facebook page at 17:10 CET.
Until then you could start to persuade yourself that a 4×4 is an acceptable choice in this day and age with our handy feature.
