2013 Chevrolet Camaro UK price and release date confirmed

Thirty-five thousand pounds – or £35,320, to be precise. That’s how much it’ll cost you to own the brand new, 2013 Chevrolet Camaro, destined to arrive on UK shores as of November this year.

Chevrolet has confirmed the entry-level, manual-equipped coupe version of its iconic sports car will be relatively affordable – at least cheap enough to make you think twice about buying that Porsche Cayman. The convertible version with a manual gearbox will set you back £40,320.

We're tempted to have one of these over a Porsche Cayman. Maybe.

The Chevy Camaro has always been a distinctive-looking thing and this new version is sexier still. The car has a more contemporary look with squared-off foglight housings, larger lower and narrower upper air intakes that give it a slightly angrier look and chrome running the width of the bonnet edge. The coupe de grace is a big old bonnet vent that adds an element of muscle while also cooling that big V8 beneath the ‘hood.

The engine in question is a mammoth 6.2-litre V8 that kicks out 432hp when hooked up to a six-speed manual and 405hp when paired with the optional auto box. That’s not an awful lot of power for a car of the Camaro’s size, but it’s better than a slap in the face.

Standard features on the 2013 Chevy Camaro include remote keyless entry, Chevrolet MyLink technology, which includes a seven-inch touch-screen display, rear-view camera, voice recognition and a head-up display. Options include a nav system and a remote engine start feature.
