2015 Porsche Cayman GT4 is for the manual gears lover

Upset Porsche forced a seven-speed PDK transmission on the new 911 GT3? Fear not. The new Cayman GT4 is only going to come with a six-speed manual for a more involving drive.

The 2015 version of the 911’s little brother comes with the 3.8-litre flat-six borrowed from the 911 Carrera S and Carrera GTS. It has 385hp at 7,400rpm, 0 to 62mph takes 4.4 seconds and the top speed is 183mph.

Fuel efficiency is never a Porsche’s strongpoint, but you can potentially reach the claimed 27.4mpg if you drive carefully. CO2 emissions, meanwhile, weigh in at 238g/km.

Separating the GT4 version of the Cayman from its standard Cayman brethren is a gigantic spoiler, which actually works in conjunction with ‘three distinctive inlets’ in the front bumper to reduce lift and provide downforce on both the front and rear of the car.

The new Cayman GT4 also sits 30mm closer to the road, has upgraded brakes, new steering wheel, limited-slip differential with Torque Vectoring, while carbon ceramic brakes, carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) shell-back seats, Sport Chrono package and the Club Sport Package can be added for a fee.

The 2015 Porsche Cayman GT4 is on sale right now in the UK, with prices starting from £64,451. A complimentary course at the Porsche Experience is included so you can get used to your new motor.
