Aston Martin DB10 debuts at new James Bond film launch

The name is Martin, Aston Martin. That’s what the new DB10 would probably say, having been unveiled at the launch of the latest Bond movie, Spectre.

The Aston Martin DB10, which will be piloted by Daniel Craig (who retains his fourth film as Ian Fleming’s world famous intelligence officer), was unveiled at the Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire on the 007 stage.

Just 10 cars will be built for an undisclosed price, which means you are more likely to land a bullet on James Bond than own the car. But the British luxury car manufacturer admitted the DB10 ‘gives a glimpse to the future design direction for the next generation of Aston Martins’.

Aston Martin chief creative officer Marek Reichman and Spectre film director Sam Mendes worked closely to ensure the latest movie car is up to the task of keeping Bond out of trouble and in style.

Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer said: “In the same year that we celebrate our 50-year relationship with 007, it seems doubly fitting that today we unveiled this wonderful new sports car created especially for James Bond.

“To be partnering once again with EON Productions is great news for this company and for everyone around the world that loves to see Bond at the wheel of an Aston Martin.”

These days Aston Martin jumps at the chance to showcase its cars in the legendary film series, but it wasn’t always that way. There was, in fact, a reluctance to lend one at all for the film Goldfinger, which means that iconic combination of Sean Connery and a DB5 might never have happened.

The new Bond film stars Daniel Craig, Naomie Harris, Lea Seydoux, Monica Bellucci and Christopher Waltz. It will be in cinemas on November 6th, 2015.

There’s no word on what gadgets the latest Bond car will have tucked away. How about a selfie camera?
