Aston Martin DB9 GT Bond Edition wants to make you feel like a British spy

Wish you were James Bond? You could start with the Aston Martin DB9 GT Bond Edition, which celebrates the launch of the new Bond film, Spectre.

A mere 150 cars will be built for the world, each one painted in Spectre Silver paint and complimented by sterling silver Aston Martin badges at the front and rear and a ‘discreet’ 007 Bond Edition exterior badge.

Inside are unique numbered sill plaques with the 007 logo, the use of gun barrel embroidery on the rear seat divider and a special Bond Edition start-up screen when the AM II infotainment system boots up.

The Bond Edition is based on the DB9 GT and as such uses the same 6.0-litre V12 capable of 0-62mph in 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 183mph. Power is 547PS at 6,750rpm, while torque is 620Nm at 5,500rpm.

Aston’s three-stage Adaptive Damping System is also present so you can choose between Normal, Sport and Track depending on how savage you want the suspension to be, as is the six-speed Touchtronic transmission with an electronic shift-by-wire control system.

Those with deep enough pockets to buy the limited edition Aston can also expect a 21-inch Globe-Trotter trolley case with an embossed leather luggage tag and Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150m James Bond Limited Edition watch with a unique Aston Martin strap.

Aston Martin CEO Dr Andy Palmer said: “In the run-up to the launch of the new film, Spectre, which sees Bond behind the wheel of the DB10, we are very happy to be able to celebrate the partnership with this superb limited edition DB9 GT collector’s item.”

“I’m sure the 150 owners worldwide who succeed in acquiring one of these exceptional sports cars will, like the rest of us, delight in seeing Spectre when it is released later this year,” he added.

An Aston Martin DB9 GT Bond Edition will set you back £165,000. A suave British accent and lady magnetism are, sadly, not included in the price.

Spectre, which features the DB10, will be in cinemas from the 26th of October 2015. Our US cousins can watch it from the 6th of November.
