Bentley Bentayga Mulliner edition is the ultimate fisherman’s friend

Forget driving to your favourite fly fishing spot in a rundown old car, Bentley’s Mulliner coachbuilding division has something that may bait the rich and famous.

The Bentley Bentayga luxury sports utility vehicle (SUV) has been given a makeover by Mulliner and the result is quite the catch (pun intended), thanks to the inclusion of a hand crafted fly fishing set made from expensive wood and leather.

The set includes four fishing rods stored in special leather trimmed tubes that sit beneath the parcel shelf, landing nets in matching leather bags located in boot pockets and three individual saddle-leather-trimmed units in the middle where the ‘master tackle station’ can be found.

There’s also a refreshment case to keep the owner’s supply of Pimms nice and cool that comes with posh fine-china tableware and metal flasks. Meanwhile a waterproof wader stowage trunk keep wet and muddy waders from ruining the interior after a day out on the river.

All of the fishing-related kit can be removed so the usual boot space of the Bentayga can be claimed back when undertaking the usual Chelsea tractor duties. Oh, and you get a dehumidifier to stop the wet from ruining that lovely quilted leather interior.

As for aesthetic revisions, expect welcome lights that project Mulliner and Bentley logos on the ground when you open the doors. A custom logo can be uploaded (Jaws, anyone?) for that personal touch.

So how much is Bentley angling for the most luxurious fly fishing vehicle ever? An extra £80,000 on the standard Bentayga, which costs £160,000 before any extras. Not exactly cheap, then, but it is a 600bhp, 187mph off-roader like nothing else.
