Bugatti Legend “Jean Bugatti” is a Bugatti for Bugatti

Remember those Bugatti Veyron Special Edition cars we told you about earlier in the year? You know, the six limited-run Grand Sport ‘Les Légendes de Bugatti’ things built to commemorate the six people that helped inspire the Veyron? Well Bugatti’s confirmed another one.

Hot on the heels of the Jean-Pierre Wilmille edition car is a model designed to honour Jean Bugatti, eldest son of company founder Ettore, and creator of the iconic 57SC Atlantic.

Unsurprisingly, the new Jean Bugatti Bugatti references the 57SC Atlantic quite heavily.

Inside, it’s finished in the same beige and brown colour scheme as the Type 57SC Atlantic, with the old car’s silhouette embroidered onto the door cards and rear storage compartment with beige and brown silk thread, respectively. The gear selector lever, meanwhile, is finished in rosewood – the stuff really glossy wooden acoustic guitars are often made of.

The car also has a leather insert embossed with ‘Les Légendes de Bugatti’ in the centre console and a door sill plate etched with the likeness and signature of Jean Bugatti.

There are no mechanical tweaks to speak of, but that’s hardly a travesty considering the car uses the same 8-litre W16 engine as the standard Grand Sport Vitesse. It’s still good for 1,200PS, 1,500Nm and 0-62mph in 2.6 seconds.

Lovely. Bring on the next special edition, we say.
