Bugatti Veyron vs Koenigsegg Agera S Hundra in drag race video

It’s not often we get to see the world’s fastest cars go head to head. Luckily for us, somebody’s decided to pit two of the most rapid – the Bugatti Veryon and the Agera S Hundra – in a head to head drag race and plonked the results on YouTube for all to see. Grab some popcorn.

If you’ve not already scrolled down for the video itself (we wouldn’t blame you if you had), the video contains two of the most expensive and utterly bonkers cars on the planet hooning it up and down Koenigsegg’s home track in Ängelholm, Sweden ─ an area of land once home to a Swedish jet fighter squadron.

In the red corner you have the £1 million Veyron 16.4 and its whopping 8.0-litre quad-turbocharged 987bhp W16 engine. It will accelerate from 0 to 62mph in 2.5 seconds and 100mph takes a further 3 seconds. Guinness World Records recently gave back its crown as the fastest production car in the world, with a top speed of 267.8mph.

In the blue corner, the US$2.5 million (£1.635 million) Koenigsegg Agera S Hundra is a special version of Agera R, built to celebrate the 100th Koenigsegg built since the company was established in 2004. It packs a 1,030bhp twin-turbo 5.0-litre V8, a lightweight chassis, and copious amounts of gold paint and trim.

0 to 62mph takes an estimated 2.8 seconds and its top speed is supposedly 273mph, although that’s only a guess as nobody’s verified it independently.

Knowing the Koenigsegg is on home territory, it’s difficult to know whether this was a fair test. It’s also impossible to tell whether the difference between the cars is down to driver error or bias. Not that it matters, because at 1:58 in the video, when both drivers plant their feet down hard, the sound of those mighty engines and explosive change in pace is just incredible.

Scroll on down and enjoy the five races, you lucky people.
