The Citroen C4 Cactus has launched in the UK. You can head to your nearest dealer to get your hands on the quirky crossover – complete with its trademark ‘Airbump’ on the doors – from £12,990.
Citroen’s C4 Cactus offers a rugged small SUV look and feel in a hatchback package. It has virtually the same dimensions as the standard C4 but is 200kg lighter (965kg) and comes with Airbumps – the strips of plastic along the doors designed to protect the body from minor bumps and scrapes.
Six petrol and two diesel engines make up the range, including the BlueHDi 100 and PureTech 82 S&S (short for stop and start), the latter pumping out 98g/km of CO2 emissions. Citroen claims the most frugal engine offers up to 91.1mpg and 82g/km.
All models can be mated to a five-speed manual gearbox or six-speed ETG (Efficient Tronic Gearbox).
Three trim levels are available: Touch, Feel and Flair. Citroen’s Touch Drive 7-inch touchscreen display and infotainment system is standard on all models, as well as automatic air conditioning, DAB digital radio, navigation and Bluetooth.
A reversing camera, Park Assist, Hill Start Assist and cruise control are among the optional extras. Boot space is 385 litres expandable to 1,170 litres with the rear seats folded down.
One of 10 body colours can be chosen, including the ludicrously bright ‘Hello Yellow’ and Pearl White. Black for the Airbump is standard, with a choice of Stone Grey, Dune and Chocolate available, depending on the paintjob.
