Lotus has unveiled a special edition version of the Evora 400 designed to commemorate 50 years of its manufacturing plant in Norfolk.
The Lotus Evora 400 Hethel Edition is named after its Hethel factory in, erm, Hethel, which has been going for 50 years. Three historic colours – Essex Blue, Racing Green and Motorsport Black – are available with either a black or red leather Alcantara interior trim, depending on the paintjob.
So what else is different? It has a stripe down the side, new lightweight silver forged alloy wheels and the brake calipers come painted in a contrasting colour. A modest number of changes, it must be said.
There has been no adjustment to the engine, which means the limited edition Evora has the same 3.5-litre 394bhp supercharged V6, the same 0-60mph sprint of 4.1 seconds and the same 186mph top speed. It also has the same weight of 1,395kg, making it a very light sports car.
Standard extras on the Evora include 370mm two-piece brake discs from AP Racing, limited slip differential, automatic air conditioning and an infotainment system with navigation. An automatic transmission and cruise control can be specced for extra.
A Lotus Evora 400 Hethel Edition will set you back £75,500, making its relatively short list of enhancements worth an extra £3,500. One for diehard Lotus fans.
