New Land Rover Discovery: First official picture

This is it: The first official picture of Land Rover’s new Discovery.

The full-fat Discovery will feature a more rounded, sculpted front end than its predecessors, featuring a smaller grille, and a distinctive u-shaped element to the headlights.

In all, it appears to take a pretty radical departure from the cars that came before it, ditching the vertical orange indicator lamps and swapping the circular fog lights for thin, low-profile items. A glossy front diffuser and a smooth grille complete the look.

The new Discovery will be the largest in Land Rover’s range, offering up to seven seats, massive amounts of space and off-road capability. The new addition will make its world premier on 28th September ahead of the Paris Motor Show.

Gerry McGovern, Land Rover’s Chief Design Officer, said: “New Discovery redefines the large SUV. Land Rover’s design and engineering teams have revolutionised the Discovery DNA to create a highly desirable, extremely versatile and hugely capable premium SUV.”

We’ll give you more Discovery leaks as we get them.
