Recombu Awards 2015: Find out the year’s best car manufacturer, as voted by you, our esteemed readers.
The Recombu Awards 2015 have been and gone. This year we had three car categories voted on by us: Best Performance Car, Best Luxury Car and Best Family Car.
Our fourth award was Best Car Manufacturer, which was decided by you. It was a close competition, with a surprisingly small number of votes between the winner and runner-up.
Second place was Jaguar Land Rover, thanks to an ever-impressive range of vehicles, including the Range Rover Sport SVR, Jaguar F-Type Coupe and the superb XE S.
But narrowly securing the 2015 award was Ford and with good reason. The latest Mondeo has been going down a storm with consumers because of its value for money approach to the family car – and one that doesn’t skimp on comfort or safety.
Excitement for the forthcoming new Focus RS, due in 2016, was another factor in securing the vote. It is, after all, going to offer serious performance for not a lot of money.
Let’s also not forget the Fiesta ST has managed to take on a number of more powerful competitors in its segment and came out on top, time and time again.
Throw in the fact readers were impressed by the overall variety, reliability and quality offered by Ford this year and it’s easy to see why the award was deserved.
