Skoda Fabia Monteo Carlo wants you to look twice

Skoda has announced the Fabia Monte Carlo, a more stylish and sporty version of the popular runaround that comes with a more generous list of standard goodies.

The Skoda Fabia Monte Carlo is available in estate or hatchback form and with a choice of three petrol engines, including a 1.0-litre three-cylinder with 75ps and a five-speed manual capable of up to 58.9mpg and CO2 emissions of 108g/km.

There are also two diesels on offer, a 1.4-litre three-cylinder with 90PS and the same again only with 105PS. The former can achieve a claimed 78.5mpg and CO2 of 94g/km.

Skoda has based the Fabia Monte Carlo on the Fabia SE, which means a lot of goodies in addition to aesthetic extras like 16-inch Italia black alloys, black radiator grille, body coloured rear spoiler, LED daytime running lights and Monte Carlo badging on the B-pillar.

Inside are bespoke front sport seats, front and rear floor door mats with red stitching, a cherry red centre console, pearl grey roof lining, Monte Carlo pedals, multi-function steering wheel, black roof rails (estate only), air conditioning, Front Assist emergency braking and a Bolero infotainment system with a 6.5-inch touchscreen.

Prices start from £14,590 for the 1.0 MPI 75PS Hatch rising to £18,685 for a top of the line 1.4TDI 105PS Estate a premium of £1,820 on the SE Hatch and £2,175 for the Estate. Orders are open now and deliveries are expected in September 2015.
