Tesla Model S is an Electric Cruisebeast, says The Oatmeal

The Oatmeal aptly describes the Model S as an Intergalactic Spaceboat in its illustrated review.

The Tesla Model S is one of the most well-liked cars on the planet, with many road testers — including Recombu’s own — absolutely fawning over it. The latest to fall for its charms is Matthew Inman, a cartoonist at The Oatmeal, who has penned an illustrated review of the luxury sedan.

In the review, Inman’s main criticism of the car is its ‘stark’ name. Instead of ‘Model S’, he’d prefer to call it such things as “Intergalactic SpaceBoat of Light and Wonder.” Or “Electric Cruisebeast.” Or “I’m in outer space, motherf*****,” because that’s apparently his favourite thing to scream at other drivers while passing them on the freeway.

Inman is more pleased by the car’s performance and handling. He likens the Model S to “a Ferrari that got porked by a luck dragon.” A luck dragon, in case anyone was wondering, is the big dog-like creature that starred as the main means of transport in The Neverending Story movies. Quite how a luckdragon could mate with a car is beyond us, but take his point.

We won’t spoil the rest of Inman’s amusing thoughts — make sure you head over to The Oatmeal to read the comic review for yourselves — but it’s safe to say he absolutely loves the thing.

He loves it so much, in fact, that he wants to build a Tesla museum — not about the car, but one about the great inventor that dreamed up the AC electric motor. Inman launched a successful crowdfunding project to buy the land on which Nikola Tesla’s lab once stood, and has tweeted Tesla CEO Elon Musk with an illustrated plea asking for a further $8 million to create a Tesla museum on the land.

Elon Musk seemed to agreed, replying “I would be happy to help.”

Musk, if you’re reading this, we love your car too. What’s in your wallet?
