Honda has announced details of the 2015 Jazz, including pictures, specs and a UK price for the new hatchback.
The all-new Honda Jazz is 95mm longer than its predecessor, thanks to being underpinned by a new platform, and is roomier on the inside so passengers can reap the benefits of more leg and headroom.
Boot space is now 354 litres with the rear seats down and 897 litres with them folded flat. Use the Magic Seat system and a loading length of 2,480mm is yours, which should be handy for tricky loads.
Standard equipment across the range includes air conditioning, cruise control with a speed limiter, dusk-sensing automatic lights and City-Brake Active, which has been added to help secure a five-star EuroNCAP safety rating.
Up from the S model is SE, which adds rear parking sensors, electrically adjustable heated door mirrors, 15-inch alloys and Driver Assistance Safety Pack comprised a forward collision warning, traffic sign recognition, intelligent speed limiter, lane departure warning and high-beam support system.
Atop the range is EX, which includes smart entry and start, automatic climate control, front fog lamps, 16-inch alloys and a six-speaker audio system.
Both SE and EX also benefit from Honda’s Connect infotainment system, which allows for internet and social media browsing among other things. Garmin navigation can be specified for a few more quid.
Forget about choosing what engine to have, Honda has limited the new Jazz to just one. Its 1.3-litre I-VTEC that replaces the old 1.4-litre offers 102PS at 6,000rpm and can be combined with a six-speed manual or a new CVT automatic.
The CVT option is slightly better on fuel economy and CO2 emissions, coming in at 61.4mpg and 106g/km, respectively, compared with the manual’s 56.5mpg and 116g/km.
You will be able to buy the new Honda Jazz from September in the UK. Prices start from £13,495 for the manual S model ranging to £16,815 for the EX CVT. Hopefully it’s as reliable as the old one.
