Aston Martin has announced details of the DB9 GT, a more powerful version of the grand tourer it calls the ‘most compelling DB to date’.
The main difference between the DB9 GT and its non-GT sibling is the power output. An uprated version of the 6.0-litre V12 petrol delivers 547PS, an increase of 30PS on the Carbon edition. Torque is the same 620Nm.
Work the V12 hard and you can expect 0-62mph to come and go in 4.5 seconds. The top speed, meanwhile, is a plentiful 185mph so there’s plenty of scope to lose your licence in spectacular fashion.
The DB9 GT has also been blessed with the AMi II touchscreen infotainment system, which has an easier to use menu system and supports text messaging, vehicle status information and more background themes to personalise your Aston.
Various external tweaks hint this is no ordinary DB9, including a black painted splitter and diffuser, 20-inch ten-spoke alloy wheels, black anodised brake calipers, revised headlights and taillights and subtle GT badging here and there.
Step inside and you will see GT embroidery on the seats and a choice of centre console finishes including Ice Moccha, not to mention a One-77 inspired steering wheel and copious amounts of leather.
The Aston Martin DB9 GT is available to order around the world and is priced from £140,000 before you start adding fancy extras.
Aston Martin also announced revisions for the 2016 Vantage and Rapide S. Both cars will see the aforementioned infotainment system debut in addition to a range of new personalisation options.
