You may have a beautiful partner hanging off your arm, a house with twelve bathrooms and a credit card limit measured in millions, but life can still easily bring you down a peg or two.
Just ask this guy, who is seen topless with his better half in a shiny Porsche 918 Spyder. Shiny for now, that is, because after posing for the camera he decides to test out power of its 887bhp hybrid engine in a small space.
At this point life decides it’s time to readdress balance and the 918 blasts off, causing the driver to swerve around pedestrians and then, bam, it piles into a kerb at Epi Plage in St Tropez, France.
To be slightly fair to the driver, who must regret showing off, the 918 has electric motors that kick in instantly – so it can be doing 62mph in less than three seconds. Trifle with a hypercar at your peril.
We are, however, a bit confused as to why he brakes multiple times before crunching the bodywork. Maybe he ended up putting his foot on both the brake and accelerator? It’s painful viewing, that’s for sure.
Luckily for the Porsche, the damage looks fairly minor but that ego hit is irreparable, especially now that more than half a million views of the YouTube video have been and gone in just two days.
