A Chinese truck driver has landed himself in much greater trouble after being caught trying bury a police officer in gravel so he could escape.
Reports say the unnamed truck driver had attracted police attention because an officer suspected the dangerously overloaded truck was about to be driven.
Rather than accept his fate, however, the lorry driver thought it would be a good idea to smack the locks keeping the latch closed on his truck, allowing the gravel to pour out everywhere and bury the officer up to his waist.
The driver managed to flee the scene because the second officer, who filmed the event on his smartphone, rushed to rescue his buried co-worker, but was later arrested. The footage was later posted on YouTube.
The truck driver has since been charged for assaulting a police officer in addition to the original crime of overloading the truck. It is believed tthe incident took place at a construction site in Haikou in the Hainan province of China. It is unclear if the officer was hurt during the incident.
The video has since been viewed nearly 200,000 times at the time of writing.
