Watch The Grand Tour season 2 trailer

The first trailer for Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May’s The Grand Tour season 2 is on YouTube, complete with footage before Hammond’s Rimac Concept One crash.

The second installment of Amazon Prime’s The Grand Tour has been shown off in a 37-second trailer, which reveals footage of Richard Hammond at the wheel of the Rimac Concept One shortly before he crashed it.

The Grand Tour season 2 looks to continue the theme of season 1, which was a continuation of Top Gear in all but the name, with Jeremy Clarkson, Hammond and James May in the presenting seat and Andy Wilman as executive producer.

A Bugatti Chiron hypercar, heavily armoured personnel carrier, McLaren supercar, small airplanes, lots of laughing (at James May, presumably) and the aforementioned all-electric Rimac all feature in the The Grand Tour season 2 trailer, which will be made available to Amazon Prime members on the 11th of July, 2017.

Despite being unavailable to watch in the UK at the time of writing, the trailer has already been uploaded and posted on YouTube, allowing everyone a glimpse at what to expect from the most famous motoring journalists on the planet.

“Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May return for a new season of the world’s greatest show about three middle-aged men rampaging around the world having unusual adventures, driving amazing cars and engaging in a constant argument about which of them is the biggest idiot,” the Amazon Prime season 2 trailer description reads.

Hammond made the news after a video of his crash in the Rimac Concept One was published. Going too fast into a corner was said to be the cause of the accident, which took place at Hemberg Hill in Switzerland and saw the car upside down and on fire.

Speaking on Twitter, Clarkson described it as “the biggest crash I’ve ever seen and the most frightening”.

Hammond, who suffered a fractured knee bone, was said to be lucky to escape – though his latest incident is nothing compared to his dragster crash at 286mph back in 2006, which nearly killed him. Hammond also knocked himself out on a motorbike earlier in the year.

Amazon is yet to announce an official release date for season 2 of The Grand Tour, but we have heard rumblings of October and November, 2017. Plenty of time to catch up on season 1, then, if you still need to.

To watch The Grand Tour season 2 trailer, you will need an Amazon Prime subscription, which costs £79 a year or £7.99 a month. Alternatively, Prime Video costs £5.99. A 30-day free trial is currently available.
