Amazon’s running a £10,000 gift card lottery for Prime Music subscribers

Amazon is giving away eight hauls of vouchers, with the top prize worth £10,000, to anyone who streams tracks from Prime Music between now and December 4.

In one of the oddest and best-sounding Black Friday deals of the day, the shopping giant says that any customer who streams a song, album or playlist on Prime Music between now and next Friday will be entered into a lottery.

Eight winners will be picked at random and told within four days of the closing date; one lucky Prime Music streamer will walk away with the top prize of £10,000, two second-placers will get a haul of vouchers worth £5,000 each while five third-placers will get £1,000 worth of vouchers each.

All you’ll need to do to be in with a chance of winning is sign up for Prime Music between now and Friday, December 4 and stream at least one track. The terms and conditions state that you don’t even have to listen to a song all the way through – it says that you’ll be entered automatically when you ‘stream a song from Prime Music for any length of time during the Prize Draw Period from their Amazon.co.uk account’.

You’ll be entered whether you stream online or on your phone, tablet or Fire TV device. You’ll only get on entry though, so don’t go thinking that if you stream the same One Direction song 10,000 times you’ll get 10,000 entries. You’ll only get one entry and you’ll have wasted your time listening One Direction 10,000 times.

Prime Music is a Spotify-like streaming service that’s available to Amazon Prime members. If you don’t already have membership, you can sign up for Prime Music for free for 30 days as part of a trial, although if you don’t want to cough up for the annual £79 Prime fees, you might want to make a note of what that expires.
