A(nother) new Kickstarter-funded Android games system wants to change the way you play games and watch.
ZRRO (pronounced “zero”) is hoping to pick up $200,000 (£129,000) in funding to produce a new Android-powered console which will plug in to your TV and allow you to play all your favourite games on the big screen.
The stand-out feature of the ZRRO is the touchscreen controller. Using patented “zTouch” technology, this senses your finger hovering above it which, the makers claim, will allow gamers to stare at the TV whilst maintaining control over their game in an intuitive way.
The console comes with all the usual trimmings. It runs on Android 4.4 KitKat, and is powered by a quad-core AMLogic M802 chip and 2GB DDR3 RAM, it also offers 16GB of storage space, and a slot for micro SD cards, with cards of up to 32GB supported. It also supports video output up to 4K, making it relatively future-proof.
The aforementioned controller lets users hover their finger up to 3cm above the surface of its touchpad and displays their location in real time on your TV screen, allowing for more accurate movement and, potentially, a gaming experience which is much more on-par with what you’d expect from a smartphone or tablet.
Also, as with every other Android-based console we’ve seen, the ZRRO will turn your regular TV into a smart one, letting you surf the Web, stream media and use your apps.

You can expect to get your hands on one for a pledge of $150 (£97) at the moment, but that price is set to rise to $200 (£129) and should be $250 (£160) in stores, if the project ever gets that far.
