Mozart in the Jungle S3 queued up by Amazon

Amazon’s commissioned a third series of its award-winning classical orchestra comedy-drama Mozart in the Jungle

The show, based on the best-selling memoir of oboist Blair Tindall, offers viewers a warts and all look at the mucky backstage goings on of a travelling orchestra and features Gael García Bernal, Lola Kirke, Saffron Burrows and Malcolm McDowell among its star line up.

Last year Jeffrey Tambor bagged a Golden Globe for his performance as Maura Pfefferman in Amazon’s hit comedy Transparent, which was also awarded a gong for Best Television Comedy.

Joe Lewis, head of half hour series at Amazon Studios said: “Mozart in the Jungle bursts with creativity and passion, and offers audiences something truly unique. Amazon is proud to have two of the most risky and enthralling comedy series on television today.”

Production of the third series will begin later this year. For those of you yet to tune in Mozart, you can catch up with seasons 1 and 2 now on Amazon Prime video, which costs either £5.99/month or £79/year with Amazon Prime. Amazon Prime Video apps are available for iOS, Android and Kindle devices, all current and last-gen consoles, Apple TV, Roku and Amazon’s own Fire TV streamers and a range of smart TVs and connected set-top boxes from LG, Panasonic, Samsung and Sony.

Folks with sufficient bandwidth to access 4K streams and the latest LG and Samsung TVs will also be able to watch Mozart in HDR (High Dynamic Range) for no extra cost.
