Asus: Eee Pad Transformer Ice Cream Sandwich update not delayed for the UK

A few of you have been asking why Asus has delayed the Ice Cream Sandwich update for the original Transformer, so we dropped them a line. We were told that while statements from Asus Singapore might suggest otherwise, the Android 4.0 update for the Asus Eee Pad Transformer (TF101) is on course for the end of this month.

“As far as Asus UK is concerned, the update should arrive by the end of February as planned,” we were told by a spokesperson.

On Tuesday, Asus Singapore posted the following on Facebook: “We are informed that the ICS upgrade for TF101 will be ready within the Feb/March 2012 period. You will be able to receive the upgrade notification via FOTA once we have a confirmation date.”

Yesterday a post on Asus’s UK Facebook page mentioned that “Asus UK has not received any information confirming this. We will let you know if there is any further, solid developments and when we have a difinitive date for the release. ”

When we spoke to Asus earlier we again asked for a date but there’s still not one forthcoming. However rumours of a March launch don’t look to be on the cards for Transformer owners in the UK at any rate.

We will of course update you with new info as soon as we hear of a release date for Android 4.0 on the Transformer.
