EE has taken the wraps off a brand new addition to its Harrier family of hardware – the 4G Harrier tab.
EE’s own-brand Harrier devices aren’t half bad and the company has just announced that it’s adding a brand spanking new 4G tablet to its roster, which already includes a 5.2-inch smartphone and a pocket-friendly mini.
The device, which has been given the highly original name Harrier Tab, comes packing an octa-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm chip, 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage space as well as a micro SD card slot which will let folk expand their storage space as and when they feel the need.
The device also offers up an 8-inch full HD display which should allow users on a budget to really make use of EE’s 4G network, which is currently rated as the nation’s fastest, to enjoy streaming while they’re out and about.
The Tab runs on Android 5.1 out of the box and also packs 8-megapixel rear-facing and 2-megapixel front-facing cameras – which we hope EE has improved, given the mopey performance of the other Harrier devices’ cameras.
In addition to the solid running gear, EE has opted to kit the Harrier Tab out with a 4,650mAh battery which, with the help of Lollipop’s new power saving smarts, should deliver reasonable legs.
You can grab the Harrier Tab now from any of EE’s stores or via their website. It’ll cost you £199 on pay as you go but, given the multitude of other options around at lower price points we think it’ll mainly attract the contract lovers – who’ll be able to snap it up for free on plans from £18 per month over 24 months with a fairly decent 10GB of monthly data.
