Take outstanding iPhone photos with Olloclip’s 4-in-1 lens

iPhone users serious about their smartphone photography will already undoubtedly know about Olloclip, and the company’s just released some new accessories which we decided to test out.

There are already a wealth of lenses out there to snap onto the top of the iPhone 6 or 6 Plus’s stellar 8-megapixel snappers, but chances are if your phone is already protected by a case, you’re going to have to slide that off each and every time you want to mount an Olloclip instead.

Thankfully the company has seen fit to introduce the new Ollocase – a svelte polymer hard shell with just the right cut-outs to accommodate an Olloclip lens mount, whilst still keeping your prized iPhone protected.

The case itself comes in two colours: matte smoke-black and matte clear-dark grey, which we tested out. There’s a good level of tactility from the button overlays along the sides and three of the edges are swathed in an additional layer of rubber for even greater impact protection and enhanced grip.

There’s also a translucent back with a subtle geometric pattern that’s fractionally raised, adding a little more grip over the iPhone’s slippery metal backing and on the whole the case will serve most users well, with a low-profile design that doesn’t skimp on protection.

When you’re sans Olloclip, the cut-out for the camera is pretty sizeable, but it essentially leaves the same parts of the phone exposed as Apple’s official cases.

Olloclip 4-in-1 lens

Whilst the Active Lens system is the newest kid on the block, it hasn’t yet landed in our laps, but the 4-in-1 lens system is almost as new and arguable one of the most versatile kits in Olloclip’s lineup.

Provided you don’t feel duped by the fact the two of the four modes are varying amounts of macro zoom (10x and 15x), you’ll be pleased as punch with this offering, which boasts a wide-angle and a fisheye glass lens on either side.

You can pack in an exceptional amount of extra detail thanks to both macro lens offerings, wonderfully broad images from the wide-angle and distinctly eye-catching shots from the curved imagery of the fisheye.

Olloclip as a company is mobbing from strength to strength and if you’re looking for a way to supercharge your iPhone snaps, they have a fantastic set of tools on offer.
