Reckon you can beat this guy? If you think you can then you’re going to have to put in some serious training hours. Fortunately there’s an app for that and that app is myTextSpeed.
myTextSpeed is a texting game that measures how fast and how accurate you are at texting. So if you pride yourself on being an efficient texter and diligent speller then this is the app for you.
There are three main game modes. In Beat The Time, you are given the choice of completing a range of well known typing test phrases including ‘The quick brown fox’ and the infamous ‘Piranha’ phrase, aka the one used in official Guinness Book of Records texting challenges.
You can also create and save a couple of customs your own custom ones as well. Being true geeks we created one called ‘Lorem Ipsum’.
Classic mode throws a bunch of random words and sentences at you and you have to get as many words down as you can in 60 seconds.
Your scores are broken down into speed (words and characters per minute) and accuracy (expressed as a percentage).
You can share your scores to Facebook or Twitter or pin them to the myTextSpeed leaderboard. You’ll need to create a Scoreloop profile in order to use this. If you don’t have one you can set one up within the app itself or do it from your desktop.
The best thing about myTextSpeed is that it works with practically every input method out there for Android – SlideIt, ThickButtons, Swype – so choose your weapon.
