Netflix for Android has been updated with serious performance improvements

Netflix for Android is a notoriously laggy app, but the latest update may have finally fixed the performance issues. Android Police has detailed the changes, and the site even has the APK if you’re feeling impatient.

The design hasn’t radically changed, although UI elements are now nice and sharp thanks to high-resolution image assets. Everything should now be much more pleasant to look at on smartphones and tablets with pixel dense displays.

The biggest improvement, though, is performance. Android Police says scrolling and navigating through the app has been dramatically improved. Support for Google’s Chromecast dongle has also been baked in, but that’s a feature that only those in the US will be able to take advantage of right now.

Android Police has the APK available to download, but the updated app should reach devices through the Play Store over the next few days.
