Google’s new Nexus phone is shown off yet again in a 7 minute video

Google has a new Nexus phone on the way. We have a good idea of what it looks like thanks to numerous leaks, but we haven’t really seen it shown off properly – at least until this 7 minute video leak care of smartphones.sfr.fr.

The design is what we’ve seen in pictures already. That round bump on the back of the device houses a 8-megapixel camera with optical image stabilisation, while what looks to be dual speakers resides on the bottom. The earpiece looks a little funky too: Google and LG have opted for a round speaker rather than use a typical rectangular slit. Otherwise, this looks to be a fairly svelte build with rounded curves and minimal bezels.

Some screen on time also shows a few of the changes expected to be made in Android 4.4, KitKat. The icons in the status bar are now white instead of neon blue, and the camera UI has seen further tweaks that should make it easier to use.

Specifications for Google’s next-gen Nexus are said to include a 5-inch 1080p display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC, and 2GB of RAM. There’s still no word on when the handset will be officially announced, but we’re willing to bet it will be in days rather than in weeks.
