Mercedes C-Class Estate details, pictures and price

New Mercedes-Benz C-Class Estate comes with three engine choices and improved standard equipment.

A more family-friendly version of the 2014 Mercedes-Benz C-Class has been announced. The new C-Class Estate will arrive in the UK in September priced from £28,055.

Three engine choices will be available. An entry-level 2.0-litre four-cylinder mated to a six-speed manual or seven-speed automatic provides 184hp and 300Nm of torque while sipping petrol to the tune of 51.4mpg. CO2 emissions are 128g/km, the highest of the range.

Next up is the mid-level 220 BlueTec diesel, which offers 170hp, 400Nm of torque and 65.7mpg. CO2 emissions are 108g/km. Atop the C-Class Estate tree is the 2.2-litre 250 BlueTec diesel, which only comes equipped with a seven-speed automatic. Power and torque is 204hp and 500Nm, respectively. 62.8mpg and 117g/km of CO2 emissions are promised.

A C 200 BlueTec diesel and C 300 BlueTech hybrid will bulk out the new C-Class Estate range later in 2014, Mercedes said.

All engines come with a choice of three spec levels: SE, Sport and AMG Line. On top of that are four optional packages to make your C-Class Estate better equipped. The Premium Package, for instance, adds a panoramic glass sunroof, Keyless Go, ambient lighting and electric memory seats for £1,595.

Premium Plus adds the same as well as a Burmester sound system and Comand Online infotainment system for a cool £2,795. Then there’s the £1,495 Driving Assistance Package available for the Sport and AMG Line trim levels, which gives you various electronic safety gizmos like Blind Spot Assist and Lane-Keeping Assist.

For anyone with a smelly family, you can always go for the Air-Balance package that circulates a fragrance of your choice. All you have to do is fill up a small container located in the glove box and it will do the rest.

Standard equipment includes a sizable boot, roof rails, split-folding rear seats and a powered tailgate.

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class Estate starts from £1,200 more than the C-Class saloon. Expect to pay from £28,055 for the 200 petrol, £30,565 for the 220 BlueTec diesel and £33,220 for the 250 BlueTec diesel.
