Peugeot is celebrating 30 years since the GTi badge was born with a special edition 208 – and a price has been revealed. The 208 GTi 30th is a standard 208 GTi with some performance-focussed additions.
The 1.6-litre THP petrol engine has been given an extra 8hp over the standard car, taking the total to 208hp. Torque has increased 275 to 300Nm. 0 to 62mph takes 6.5 seconds (down from 6.8 seconds) and a standing kilometre is dispatched in 26.5 seconds.
Peugeot has widened the track of the 208 GTi 30th by 22mm at the front and 18mm at the rear. The suspension, which is 10mm lower, has been retuned to help tame the extra power, including new damper settings and spring rates.

Just 100 cars will be built, 75 of which feature the lovely Coupe Franche finish. ‘Coupe Franche’, for the less language savvy, literally means ‘clean cut’ and is a reference to the sharp line where the two colours meet.
Bucket seats from Peugeot Sport trimmed in Alcantara with contrasting red stitching, special interior mats and red and black door handles make the interior a bit more lively.
There are two other paintjobs available if you want something less shouty. 20 cars are in Satin White and five are in Rioja Red, the latter costing an extra £150.
