Rolls-Royce is trying to improve brand appeal amongst younger motorists – and what better way to do so than by releasing a stealthy special edition version of the Phantom Drophead Coupe.
The Rolls-Royce Nighthawk takes its design cues from cutting edge aircraft, which explains the Diamond Black Metallic paintjob, matt black bonnet, full-leather black seats and the windscreen surround and other trim bits made to look like they are covered in a radar-absorbing material used on airplanes.
Inside, the Nighthawk replaces the comfort and elegance of wood and creams with expensive and lightweight carbon fibre with contrasting red panelling, making it considerably less pipe and slippers.
The engine is the same 6.75-litre naturally-aspirated V12, which means a 0 to 6mph time of 5.7 seconds, 457bhp and 730Nm of torque. Sporty enough, then, to get you to your local golf club rave on time and in style.
The Nighthawk was built by the bespoke part of Rolls-Royce so it’s no surprise the price tag is an eye-watering US$570,000 (£375,000), making it a dream car for most of us, especially when it only available in North America for the time being.
Looks like we will have to settle for the Rolls-Royce Wraith instead.
