Subaru Impreza back on UK soil

The all-wheel drive Subaru Impreza will go on sale in the UK from May 1st.

First the Subaru WRX STI returned to the UK. Now we can report the Impreza will also be available from the 1st of May, priced from £17,495.

The latest version of the Subaru Impreza has a 1.6-litre Boxer petrol lump, which outputs 112bhp and 150Nm (111lb/ft) of torque. 0 to 62mph takes 12.3 seconds and the top speed is 114mph. Auto Start Stop is standard, helping it achieve 44.1mpg and 147g/km of CO2 emissions.

All models come with Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system, which is designed to provide oodles of traction. With the manual gearbox equipped a limited-slip differential shifts the torque where it needs to go, while the pricier Lineartronic automatic uses a Multi-Plate Transfer clutch.

Only one trim level will be available in the UK. Dual-zone air-conditioning, rear passenger heating and vents, six-way adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, 60/40 split-fold rear seats, two 12v power sockets, USB and AUX in connectivity, reversing camera and a leather steering wheel and gearknob make up the generous standard equipment list.

There’s also 16-inch alloy wheels, anti-roll bar, daytime running lights, automatic headlights and windscreen wipers, front fog lamps, power-folding heated door mirrors and LED indicators. For a few quid extra you can add a Pioneer satnav and leather seats.

Satin White, Ice Silver and Quartz blue make up the three exterior paintjobs available.

Its sportier WRX STI sibling starts from £28,995 when it goes on sale later in 2014.
